Crystal Guidance Tip for Attention Deficit Disorder / ADHD

Crystals for Attention Deficit Disorder / ADHD — Work with Lepidolite for ADD or ADHD. Carry with you (or your child). You can also place it under their pillow if they can't or won't carry it with them. This way it can work with them and help them while they sleep.

In addition to Lepidolite my oldest son, who is also ADHD, has recommended Charoite and Sodalite. These can help bring a calming energy into their lives. From our personal experience, although these do not cure ADHD, they do help calm the child and offer them more focus. My son says he feels a lot better when he carries it with him or even makes a small grid in his room with these crystals.

Meditation can also greatly reduce the symptoms of ADD and ADHD. I know how hard that can be! My son says his mind races too much for it. A guided meditation is something to try if you or your child has problems with ADD/ADHD. There are many other forms of light meditation. The goal is to calm and focus their mind. Drawing or any kind of crafts and artwork is an excellent form of light meditation. My oldest son's favorite thing... reading!

Amethyst for Your New Years Partying!

FUN FACT: Did you know that the name Amethyst is derived from the ancient Greek word “amethustos”, which translates to “not drunk or intoxicating”. Goblets made of Amethyst were once used to hinder inebriation (drunkenness).

According to Greek mythology, Amethyst was a young virgin who became the object of wrath of the Greek God Dionysus after he became intoxicated with red wine. When Amethyst cried out to Goddess Diana for help, she immediately turned the girl into a white, shimmering stone (Quartz). When Dionysus realized what had happened and felt remorse for his actions, his tears dripped into his goblet of red wine. The goblet overturned, and the red wine spilled all over the white rock, saturating it until it became the purple Quartz that is now known as Amethyst. (source: jewelsforme.com)

New to crystals and not sure where to start?

When I started working on creating this blog post on my website, I knew it would be a fairly good sized article. However, once I started working on it the information and ideas just kept flowing! My original goal was to post the article on both my Crystal Guidance website and here on my blog. However, it became too big for me to put all of it here. With that said, here is a small portion of the "New to Crystals and Not Sure Where to Start?" article. You can read the entire article, which includes many helpful links and 2 videos, on my website at...

When you are new to crystal healing and the world of crystals it can be overwhelming. One of the biggest things I notice is people are wanting to make sure they are doing things the "right" way. I'll admit, I can be one of those people too. Here is the first rule for crystals and crystal healing...

The way that works best for you is the right way!

If something feels right to you and it is working for you, don't change it just because someone comes along and says that you're doing it wrong or they have a better way. This includes authors too. Always trust your intuition! It will let you know what is right for you.

How do I choose the right crystals for me?
Truly the best way for you to choose the right crystal for you is by listening to your own intuition. You will be drawn to the crystals that resonate with you and that you need in your life. Go to a crystal shop and see what catches your eye. If you don't have a local shop then even browse through a website (like my Etsy shop) and see what jumps out at you. Listen to your body. Feel for those subtle changes. Does the crystal give you a good kind of goose bumps? Does it makes you feel happy, loved, or something else. Do you feel a buzzing energy? If I am choosing a crystal in person I hold it in my hand. For me the left hand works better, but I recommend you see which hand you feel energy from more. I place the crystal in the palm of my hand and can feel its subtle vibration. Some I don't feel anything and some have quite a vibration! I pick the one that i can feel the strongest as I take that as a sign that the crystal is talking to me. Sometimes you pick up a crystal and simply can't put it back down. Perhaps you look at a crystal and just know that it's the one. Trust in what you feel and trust that you are being guided to the perfect crystals for you at this time. I say "at this time" because we all change and what we need changes with us. So you might need Amethyst around you right now but a few months down the road Moonstone might be calling your name.

You can also look up information on crystals to see which one(s) fit your needs. For example, you might be having trouble sleeping, so you look up which crystals can help you with insomnia so you can get a good night's sleep. This is a way to help you find what you need. However, again you need to use your intuition to see which crystal is right for you. In my crystal tips I always offer multiple crystal recommendations so that you can choose the one that you feel resonates best with your energy. Remember, crystals will not work the same for everyone, so it is all about finding the one that works best for you.

Getting back to blogging.

Since I have my website, crystalguidance.com, I often forget how handy posts on a blog site can be. Most of my crystal articles, tips, and prescriptions are all posted on my site. However, I've decided that it is time to get back to blogging. While I will continue to post on my website, I am going to start posting those same articles over here. After all, if it helps you to find the crystal information that you are looking for then it is worth the little extra work it takes to post the info in both locations.

I recently added a keyword site map to my website. This way you can easily find what you're looking for. I currently have just over 200 keywords listed with more to come as the site grows.

As always, I have so many ideas rolling through my head. The 2 that directly relate to blogging include a weekly article post that answers questions sent to me from fans of my Crystal Guidance Facebook fan page and/or sent to my email. I am also working on ideas of having guest posts written by others. After all, the more knowledge we share the better, right? RIGHT! I love to learn and love sharing that with others as much as possible.

Please feel free to come and join my Crystal Guidance newsletter. Whenever a new article is posted I will send it out through there. I also include updates on sales and other goodies that are happening on my Etsy shop

Crystal Blessings!

Crystals for Students

Crystals for Students
As I'm writing this, it is back to school time for my kids. In fact, my oldest is entering into high school. EEEK! lol I am often asked what crystals are good for students of all ages. After all, once we are out of "school" we can still be faced with taking tests for our jobs or even continuing education courses to stay on top of the latest knowledge. So with that, I offer you... crystals for students!

Fluorite is my number 1 favorite crystal for students. First off, due to the rainbow colors, children love this crystal. It is my top recommendation for memory and mental focus. It enhances their learning and ability to retain the knowledge that they have learned. Fluorite is known as the "Stone of Discernment and Aptitude" as it works with you to organizes and process new information as well as to bring mental clarity and focus.

Last Spring, during the end of the school year statewide testing, my 9 year old son came up to me and told me he felt he needed a little extra help during his testing. He took his small Fluorite skull in a bag to school with him. He would come home and tell me how much his crystal helped him and that he felt better and more confident with the test. He simply kept his crystal in his pocket. Obviously, the crystal does not have to be a skull. This just happened to be the crystal that he picked as his own "study buddy". My 14 year old son prefers Clear Quartz, but more on that crystal later.

In addition to boosting memory and mental focus, Fluorite also enhances the immune system and helps your body to combat viruses such as the cold and flu. As we know, kids can pick up germs so easily in schools and are often coming home with a cold. Let Fluorite help them fight off those viruses to stay healthy and mentally ready to learn.

Fluorite is a relatively soft crystal. It can break if it is dropped. Please keep this in mind, especially if you have younger children that you have working with crystals. As with all crystals, keep in mind your child's age and behavior. If they are young and prone to put things in their mouth, then wait until they are older and/or make sure they have a larger crystal. Children of ALL ages love crystals. Both of my boys were taught early on that crystals are their friends and to treat them gently with love.

ADDITIONAL CRYSTALS FOR MEMORY AND MENTAL FOCUS:
Crystals for Mental Focus and ClarityCrystals for MemoryAs mentioned previously mentioned, Clear Quartz is another great crystal for students. Clear Quartz is the most versatile crystal. It can be programmed for any intent and brings clarity to the mind. Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet, which makes very easy to obtain at very reasonable prices. It is the perfect starter crystal. For the student purposes, it doesn't matter if the crystal is tumbled, raw, or a point. Simply choose the one that draws your attention or let the student in your life pick out their own. Clear Quartz often contains internal rainbows that bring an added beauty and joy to the person carrying this crystal.

ADDITIONAL CRYSTALS FOR STUDENTS:
Below are even more crystals that are beneficial for students. Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. As we all know, students need more than just help with memory and mental focus. It is also important for them to have confidence in themselves, the ability to speak their truth, and the ability to be calm during times of stress. That's why I have pulled together my top 5 favorite crystals for students that assist with a blend of these different attributes. These crystals include Fluorite, Clear Quartz, Citrine, Rhodonite, and Turquoise. View the images below for even more wonderful and helpful crystal tips for you or the students in your life.
